We are committed to delivering superior quality upcycled clothing, accessories and home decor as a lifestyle brand.

With a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship, you are sure to love your UpcycledNYC product. We carefully source gently worn, pre-loved items to embellish or upcycle with materials that would have otherwise been discarded. We use only the finest materials to re-purpose each item, while elevating and reinventing its style. All garments are proudly upcycled in our NYC design studio.

Our Story

Our CEO and founder, Paula Sabetay Stvan is no stranger to the Fashion Industry. For 25 years, she has been and continues to be the VP of a private label manufacturing firm in the heart of NYC’s Garment Center. Paula has worked with many of fashion's most recognizable designer labels through the years. Her demand for excellence in craftsmanship and timely deliveries has been the catalyst for the success of her family-run business started by her father, Alfred 45 years ago.

In January of 2019, Paula decided it was time to do something about all the remnant fabrics that were going to waste. This was something that had bothered her for years. Her vision was to create clothing, accessories and home decor utilizing these materials as some sort of design detail. Her goal is to use some form of repurposed fabric to elevate the style of each piece that is made by UpcycledNYC.

The items sold on our site will either be custom, one-of-a-kind or limited-edition pieces.

This venture began as a labor of love, when Paula’s husband, Rich, actively became involved in the creative and financial aspects of the business. Their son, Christopher assisted with the initial development of their web presence, but since a freelance team of creatives and artists have added a very special dynamic to the business.  Together, the company has expanded over the years to provide new services and custom items to a wide audience of clients.   

The UpcycledNYC team is extremely thankful for the friends and family who have given endless support to their efforts.

This story couldn't be told without a mention of gratitude for being able to do what we love. UpcycledNYC was built with a mission to give back to charitable causes whenever possible while doing good for the environment.
